If you are going to go ice fishing this winter, you might as well try to win so prizes while doing so. There are several tournaments coming up soon for you to try your luck.
The Wasatch Back Quad-fishalon, begins January 23rd at East Canyon Reservoir and continues the next three Saturdays at Deer Creek, Jordanelle and Rockport reservoirs. There is a fee to participate in this tournament but could be well worth it with over $5,000 in prizes available.
The sixth annual Steinaker Ice Fishing Tournament will be held on Saturday, Jan. 30. The tournament will be for rainbow and brown trout only and will include both an adult and youth division. You do need to register for this tournament as well.
The Rockport tagged fish challenge has already started and runs through April 30th. There is no fee for this tournament and plenty of prizes to be given away.
Fishlake is hosting a Perch fishing tournament on Jan. 30th. This event is also free with many prizes available.
Just because it is winter you do not have to put away your fishing gear. In fact, winter is a great time of the year to catch big fish. Join us at the second annual Perch ice fishing tournament at Fish Lake this year on Jan. 30th from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. near the Twin Creeks Inlet. Perch fishing is fast and furious at Fish Lake in the winter and with a little luck you could go away with some exciting prizes. This is a great opportunity for the experienced angler or to introduce new fishermen or kids to ice fishing.
