The 2016 Utah fishing guidebook and proclamation has been released. There are a few changes to this year’s fishing rules that you will want to become familiar with. A summary of the changes can be found on page three of the proclamation. Most notably this year is some changes to the fishing of Kokanee Salmon and new regulations for Red Fleet Reservoir. You can also find the link to download the free hunting and fishing app in the new guidebook. This app allows you to download your hunting and fishing license right to your phone or mobile device so you no longer need to carry your paper license with you. It also contains very useful information for those who like to hunt and fish in Utah as well.

Every year the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources considers change to the regulation that they feel will feel will help improve Utah’s fisheries and overall success and fishing enjoyment for Utah anglers. It is important that you know and follow the information in the current guidebook before you fish in Utah. One change is store for next year pertains to Kokanee Salmon. There has been a large effort recently to bolster the numbers of Kokanee Salmon in Utah and the new rules will help in this effort. The details of this change will be in the new guidebook along with other changes for the upcoming fishing season.
