Fishing restrictions have recently been lifted at Gunlock Reservoir. There are no limits currently in place for the Reservoir so You can keep as many fish as you can eat. The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources plans to poison the lake this fall to kill the Smallmouth Bass in the lake which were illegally introduced several years ago. They will also poison the lake next fall in hopes to eradicate the Smallmouth Bass population. Unfortunately, this will also kill the rest of the fish in the reservoir. So rather than kill all the fish, you are now encouraged to catch and keep as many fish as you can. This includes not only Smallmouth Bass but also, Largemouth Bass, Crappie, Bluegill, rainbow trout and Catfish. This action provides an excellent opportunity to take your family camping and fishing at Gunlock State Park located near St. George, Utah.
